When it comes to my blog you can see I am not very good at posting continious content. I always have good intentions to do so but end up completely forgetting to utilize this media.

If you have been following my instagram page you will see that the last couple months I have been working on a new design. My most challenging design to date. Challenging for me because I had to figure out how to get the design to work as an almost no sew pattern. The only part that is not crocheted on is the head, but I use the invisible join method using a crochet hook, making it a pretty simple to attach.

The pattern test will start on February 24th and will run for 3 weeks and pattern is set to release right after providing all goes well, on the Saturday March 18th or 20th.

To keep up to date with what is going for Northern Town Girl Crochets, follow me on Instagram as information is always released there first.

Its been a long process with this last pattern. I did have for the most part the biggest part of the pattern done but how I was going to accomplish the face had me stumped. So I took a break to do a fun cal and to do my sisters pattern test for her little furry dog pattern. And then finally I was back at it getting the gorilla done. Then I took another break before doing the pattern test so that my friend could participate in the pattern test but now all testing is completed and my gorilla pattern is available on most of the shops. If you prefer etsy or Ravelry they are now available on there and will shortly be available on here.

When creating video tutorials for my patterns the original set up I had did not give me much room to work with and I could see the stands legs or base in my video which I did not want to see. Frustrated I tried to find ways other ways to record but still could not get the camera to focus right over my hands like I needed it too. So I set out looking for a video tool that could hold my phone right over my work so that those making my patterns could see perfectly how I was doing a certain technique. Finally I came across another crochet designer showing the set up she had. It was perfect. In her video she was able to show how the tool worked and how it was perfect for creating the content she wanted to share on her social media pages as well for her shoppes.

That was enough to convince me to get one myself. And I love it already. It will be perfect for my videos and has already helped me create some for my Instagram account. It is perfect for all my video making needs and so simple to set up. Olivia is well made and it has a few different levels in height for whatever you need. She also has lights so you won't have to worry about not have to wait to have daylight to record. Watch my video below and watch for more videos in the future.
